
Moe Fitzgerald
Maurice (Moe) Edward Fitzgerald, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 peacefully with his wife Eilleen by his side.
Moe was born on March 18, 1951 and raised in Winsted, CT where he spent his younger years water skiing with The Laural Ski Club on Highland Lake. In the Winter months, he enjoyed his time as ski patrol at Otis Ridge, MA which later led him to other ski destination such as Sugar Bush, VT, Sun Valley, Idaho and Heavenly, CA.
He graduated from Belknap College, NH with a Business Administration Degree which led him to work at Harrah’s Casino in Lake Tahoe and then finished his career at Princess Cruise Lines as Casino Manager. He was able to travel the world while working on the cruise line and he loved every minute of it!
After Retirement in 1998, he moved to Jensen Beach, FL with his wife of 25 years, Eileen and remained a true friend to so many people that he met throughout his life.
Reflecting on his life, Moe said “I have no regrets, I’ve lived my life exactly as I wanted.”
In addition to his wife Eileen (McCarthy) Fitzgerald, he is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Fitzgerald and Mary (Paul) Flieger; nieces, Caitlin Flieger and Dana (Jose) De La Campa; nephew, Brock Flieger; step daughters, Rista Malanca and Kristin (Carlos) Sarcia; and enjoyed being “Poppa Moe” to his grandson, Luca Holda. He was predeceased by his parents, Hope (Sullivan) and Edward Fitzgerald.
A Celebration of life will be held in Jensen Beach FL on May 18 from 1-3 at Crawdaddy’s Restaurant. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Forest View Cemetery, Winsted at 11:00 AM. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, Winsted has care of the arrangements.
