Robert H. Van Lenten, 74, of East Windsor, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Serenity Hospice of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, NJ.

Born in Paterson and raised in Hawthorne, Bob lived in Hightstown, Monroe Twp. and Bound Brook before settling in East Windsor in 2007. He attended Belknap College in Center Harbor, NH, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in electronics. Bob went on to work for Decision One (the former 3M Company) for 33 years as a service technician. He then worked as a manager of facility operations with FedEx, having been responsible for the Tri-state area.

For over 35 years Bob was with the Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 2-5 and taught boating safety courses with the Coast Guard Boating School. He enjoyed being part of the Patten Point Yacht Club in Long Branch and spending time on the water in his boat “Dancing Queen”. Bob also enjoyed collecting trains and ball room dancing in years past.

Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Katharine Van Lenten; his first wife, Christine Van Lenten; and his sister, Connie Van Lenten; he is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Joan P. Winstock; his children and their spouses, Kevin and Becky Van Lenten, and Alexis and Kenneth Steeber, III; his step children, Lisa Winstock, and Richard Winstock; his 12 grandchildren; his three great grandchildren; his sister Kathi Thoms; and his nieces and nephews.
