“Passed-Over” for Military Service, then Available.

At 18, I registered for the draft in 1969. My draft number was 15. My physical was due in July and I had already enrolled in Ryder Technical Institute, Philadelphia, PA. I wrote a letter to the Draft Board, asking that I be deferred from serving, When I  returned from plastering with my Dad one day Mother handed me a response-“Do not report to your physical, you are deferred one year only.” This was one day before the physical. After one year of work  and study I received a letter stating ” you are now 1-A”. Fine. I continued to earn my Associates and then was accepted at Belknap College. Meanwhile, several friends died in Vietnam and I was most sorry. My next-door neighbor committed suicide over it. My bags were perpetually packed all the way through Belknap College. I got a technician job at Browning Labs, Union Ave., Laconia, NH. Then the war ended. My bio. tells the rest. I was allowed to have a great marriage and three  children. After 15-near-death experiences, which I know of, surely God’s Grace is real. My PCP is a young Vietnamese doctor, who is also a Christian! Go figure.
